Narrative
Ritual scores 51 out of 100, landing squarely in mixed-signal territory: a site that has done the easy work of welcoming AI crawlers and publishing schema, but has not yet done the harder work of being transactable, transparent, or verifiable to an agent acting on a shopper's behalf. The crawler door is wide open. The shopping experience behind it is still built for a human with a credit card and patience.
The single biggest leak is price transparency at checkout (check 3.3, zero out of four). The classifier found "Sale price $39.00" on the product page and a cart that simply reports itself empty, with no shipping or tax surfaced anywhere before authentication. The only shipping figure visible is "$10.99 Shipping" buried inside a subscription context. An agent attempting to evaluate true landed cost on Ritual cannot, full stop. Combine this with check 6.5 (price stability, zero out of two), where not a single product page carries a priceValidUntil or schema validity window despite five of nine pages showing prices, and the picture is clear: prices appear, but they are unanchored in time and incomplete in total.
Raw HTML pricing (check 2.1, four out of eight) tells a related story. Eight of nine sampled pages expose price in JSON-LD schema, which is good, but only two of those pages return a useful rendered response: iron-bioseries, magnesium, hyacera, help-your-self, and the-shaker all returned renderedStatus 0. Agents that execute JavaScript to confirm what they parsed statically are hitting a wall. This is a Shopify shop, so the platform offers more than is being exposed.
Checkout structure (check 3.1, two out of six) and guest checkout (check 3.2, two out of four) compound the problem. The classifier could not even reach the checkout page without an initialized cart, and the cart itself prompts "Log in" with no visible guest path. Meanwhile /checkout returned a 403 in the crawl. Ritual has Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and PayPal wired up (check 3.4, full credit), but rails do not matter if an agent cannot get to the rails.
Decision-support metadata (check 6.3, zero out of three) and delivery dates (check 6.4, zero out of two) round out the agent-native content gap. Only four of nine pages surfaced high-signal decision metadata like the 30-day guarantee, B Corp status, and Clean Label certification, and zero pages exposed a structured delivery estimate. The phrase "Subscriptions Ship Free" is the closest thing to a delivery promise, which is not a delivery promise.
Two smaller items deserve naming. CAPTCHA on the cart and homepage (check 4.2, zero out of four) is transaction-blocking by the classifier's own judgment, with both reCAPTCHA and hCaptcha detected. And check 6.6 flagged "Limited Time, 35% off sitewide" as timeless fake urgency, with the actual "2026 Summer Sale" terms buried below the fold. Agents trained to discount manipulation will discount Ritual.
The biggest opportunity: render a complete, machine-readable cart and checkout, with shipping and tax visible pre-auth and a guest path that does not require login, and Ritual converts from a discoverable brand into a transactable one.
